We have calculated thousands of new solitaire puzzles, using the latest WTHOR database. There are currently 40914 solitaire positions, ranging from 6 to 18 empties :

solitaires with 6 empty squares = 4535
solitaires with 7 empty squares = 5191
solitaires with 8 empty squares = 3668
solitaires with 9 empty squares = 4170
solitaires with 10 empty squares = 3085
solitaires with 11 empty squares = 3548
solitaires with 12 empty squares = 2554
solitaires with 13 empty squares = 2980
solitaires with 14 empty squares = 2283
solitaires with 15 empty squares = 2523
solitaires with 16 empty squares = 2110
solitaires with 17 empty squares = 2386
solitaires with 18 empty squares = 1881

The archive containing the solitaires files can be downloaded from the following URL :

The new solitaire files are not compatible with the Icare format since the latest is restricted to 32500 puzzles. However, the new format is designed to be very similar to the WTHOR format, so it should be straightforward for any programmer who knows how to handle the WTHOR format to add support for solitaire puzzles in his program. The latest documentation about the WTHOR format, including information about recent extensions like 10x10 games and solitaires puzzles, can be found at : http://cassio.free.fr/cassio/custom_install/database/FORMAT_WTHOR.TXT

Marc Tastet a gagne le tournoi international de Paris des 1er et 2 septembre 2001 ! Il est le premier joueur a s'etre impose dans les 5 manches traditionnelles du Grand Prix d'Europe (Cambridge, Copenhague, Bruxelles, Rome, Paris), mais il lui manque le tournoi introduit cette
