Today September 8th, the 19th Danish Othello Champiomship was held in
Copenhagen.

12 participants played 7 rounds of swiss, and the best 2 players qualified for a one-game-final.

This year we had 3 new players (Reni O. Nielsen, Tanja Kristensen, and Kai
Ulbaek Simonsen) + one player - Morten Hansen - who played once again after 12 years absence.

Karsten Feldborg won the Championship for the 11th time after beating the
reigning champion (who had won the previous 3 years in a row) Erik Lund
Jensen 35-29 in the final .

The Danish qualification list for the WOC 2001 in New York is based on the
Nordic Ratinglist (www.othello.dk/nordiskratingliste324.html):

3. Torben Vallund - will not go
4. Claus Qvist Jessen - will not go

6. Henrik Vallund - will go

Karsten Feldborg and Henrik Vallund will certainly be on the Danish team.
The 3rd player will be either Per Horn or Palle Badsted.
