Wildcat

When making Hellcat I tried many paint schemes and really liked the blue, but red was more appropriate for a truck named "Hellcat". So I created this "sister" truck and dubbed it "Wildcat". (It's just about the same blue as my real-life Mustang convertible, so I feel right at home driving it!)

| This is the second release of Wildcat. It includes amber colored roof-mounted fog lamps and custom wheels (see below). I am especially pleased with the paint job. Blank truck models are mostly flat on the sides and rely on clever painting to give the illusion of curves and shadows. (Many inexperienced truck painters ignore this, and wind up with very unnatural looking trucks.) I put a complex design on the side of Wildcat, yet retained a nice sense of three-dimensions with some realistic shading. |
Truck makers! Download Wildcat and use it's WLDC style wheels on your own trucks! I shopped
around and tested many wheels I found online. I found BigDOGGe's LIMO wheelset to be the highest-quality
and most realistic-looking (from my viewpoint). They were apparently built from the stock tires, and had "Goodyear"
lettering applied. Then the rims were completely customized to look like fancy chrome wire-spoked wheels. They
rotate smoothly, unlike many custom wheels that are a little off-center. Most importantly, BigDOGGe went the extra
mile: instead of "mirroring" the wheel so that it looks the same on both sides, the white lettering is
on the outside only,
the way it's supposed
to be! So give BigDOGGe all the credit and browse through his many other quality truck parts.
| I replaced LIMO's wire-spokes with a more monster truck-like 5 spoke (or 5 hole) swirl design. Then I toned down the brightness a little so they didn't look too white. Finally, I added some subtle texturing to the outer tire surface for realism. |
