 Inside the fabulous "Monster Coliseum" is an elevated square rumbling platform. Down on each side of the square is a teleportation chamber that transports trucks up to the scoring zone. Up on the playing surface there are five lightning-charged power pads that will launch any truck moving over them into the air. The blue power pads serve mainly as disruptions. But watch out for the yellow super power pad in the center... it will throw you higher than the outer ring of the coliseum, and almost assuredly out of the ring!

I may have made Cataclysm a little too fun! Aside from being a good rumble, it also attracts people testing their driving skills by trying to reach the top of the Coliseum (on the roof above the playing area). Since this became a challenge, I put a reward up top for the first person to make it.

It takes a lot of practice, and there are people who can make it up more often than I can. But here are some tips that may help you develop a method of your own.

1) Use a low gear ratio (600-800). You won't have much room to get up to speed.

2) Use the yellow power pad to jump to the outer rim. (This takes a little practice, but is easy once you get the hang of it.)

3) Give yourself lots of room, and line up your run. Go up along one edge of the support, and turn the other direction at the last second to avoid ramming the corner post. A good attempt doesn't hit the end too hard, and almost feels like you're jumping off a ramp.

4) You made it! If you're the first one, collect your reward and claim bragging rights!

Once you get better, it's fun to hold impromptu rumbles up top. Wait patiently and allow others to join you. (Don't knock them off right away... that's too easy.) Once you and an opponent have had a few moments to rest, brag, and enjoy the view, then GO FOR IT! ;o)
