Return to Clawfford's Game Room
About Clawfford

Clawfford lives in Dayton, Ohio, USA.  He got Monster Truck Madness many years ago as part of a game software package with a new computer.  Although not really a fan of monster trucks, and not the world's best racer, he nevertheless enjoyed being able to go off-road to explore and make his own shortcuts.  He eventually bought the sequel, Monster Truck Madness 2, when it came out.

MTM2 remained on his computer over the years when other more elaborate games were uninstalled.  There are two main reasons for this.  First, MTM2 can be played entirely from the hard drive without digging out a CD.  This makes it extremely accessible for a quick game whenever the mood hits.  And second, you can download and install add-on tracks.  This kept the game "fresh".

Clawfford could beat the computer trucks easily, and was tired of letting them lap him once or twice before starting just to keep it competitive.  Then in December of 2001, Clawfford decided to try playing online.  He felt pretty confident that he could hold his own, but figured (correctly) that humans would be much better competition than the computer trucks.  He was not disappointed!

Within a week, Clawfford had several new friends who were also new to playing online.  He was fortunate enough to attract the attention of the leaders of Team IAM, who cared more for having a fun time online than just being good players.  At first, Clawfford had no idea why people joined teams, and was reluctant.  He was afraid it might be a commitment to organized competitions with other teams, and didn't want to have to schedule his online playing times.  He was glad to discover that most teams are really more like fraternities, and anyone wearing the team jacket was a buddy.  With assurances that Team IAM was just looking for friendly, adult players, Clawfford agreed to their offer of membership.

In addition to new friendships, he also discovered RUMBLES where you could knock the tar out of other players! ;o)  They got his naturally creative juices flowing, and so he learned track making.  Then he learned truck painting.  Then he learned 3D model editing.  All the while Clawfford worked on this website and kept it up to date with his latest releases and knowledge of the game.  He even discovered a work-around for the game glitch that gives the train whistle noise to any moving object.  It made him very proud to contribute something brand-new to the MTM2 community that others could use!

How odd, that playing online should suddenly spark such a new-found, in-depth interest in a game Clawfford had already owned for many years!  Blame it all on the friendships.  Without a real-live friend to play with, no game is the same for him anymore.  It is Clawfford's hope that his efforts in creating tracks and trucks, and in maintaining an informative website, can say "Thanks!" to the people who brought him this enjoyment, and help others to feel the same way.

Not a monster truck, but fun to drive anyway!  Yup, ladies... he's single! ;o)
